Students in our Art 20 and 30 classes this semester were the lucky recipients of a pair of Vans high-top canvas runners as well as a brilliant idea. The shoes were donated to the class to give the students the opportunity to create a personal design on a pair of their own shoes.
The success of the project was recognized even outside of the school. The staff at Gravity Pope and their Vans rep. were so impressed with our students’ work that they have decided to put on a display in their store window, identifying the shoes as the work of Ross Sheppard students and inviting people to vote for their favourite. The display will be setup this Friday and voting will start on Saturday. The winner of the vote will receive a cash award.
If you would like to see some of the designs and vote for your favourite, head to Gravity Pope (10442 82 Ave) from June 11-18.
Congratulations to our Arts students and staff for their part in this great project! Pictures of all the designs are posted at Facebook.com/RossShep.
